Yes, this is the weekend for the Oswego Speedway banquet and Hall of Fame awards at the Turning Stone Casino Resort. That’s this Saturday, October 24th. From what I’m seeing, the speedway is taking the initiative to entertain us for a full TWELVE HOURS, if we choose to utilize it. Take a look at this schedule:

3:30 - 5:30 - The 4th floor hospitality room will be open.
5:30 - 6:30 - Cocktails in the Events Center
6:30 - 7:30 - Excellent Buffet Dinner
7:30 - 7:45 - Door prizes, and Eagles Fan Club 50/50 winner drawing
7:45 - ? - Awards Ceremony / Hall of Fame inductions and speeches
? - 2:00AM - Music and dancing with Ron Gray’s Millenium Music
2:00 - 3:30AM - After party in the 2nd floor “Meadow Soprano Room”.

That’s twelve more hours to hang with our racing buddies before we officially close racing season. A great time will be had by all!

Also, the Beagles Fan Club will be holding a special 50/50 raffle to replenish the “Injured Drivers Fund” which was unfortunately used a little bit too much during the 2009 season. An attempt to “pass the helmet” on the final night of the regular season was scratched with threatening weather in the area and Twin Features to be run for both divisions. The 50/50 raffle will take place in the pre-banquet gathering in the 4th Floor Hospitality Room and in the Event Center right up until the conclusion of the buffet dinner. The winner will be drawn right after the door prizes are given away at 7:45.

I always really look forward to the banquet, and I plan to make the most of it. We’ll get there early, and stay late. I’ve busted on several people in this week’s Gater News column, so that should make for some interesting conversation at the banquet! It’s a must read.
