In the Oswego N.Y. area, our racers know how to celebrate Thanksgiving. On the Friday after the holiday, many drivers, owners, fans, crew, and funlovers hop on a bus and take a ride from shop to shop. Yesterday’s posse toured such racecar shops as Danzer’s, White’s, Knopp’s, Cliff’s, and Pullen’s for some benchracing and cheerspreading. And probably some thanksgiving. Usually the ride includes stops at some supermodified shops in addition to the aforementioned small block supermodified shops.
Despite all of the grumbling and negative talk about racing lately, the bottom line is that us racers are a close-knit group, and we really know how to have a good time. What do you do for fun in your local racing community? (Note: yes, that’s me fishing for comments.)
I had to miss yesterday’s edition, but get with me sometime for some stories from a previous bus run…
