Michael Barnes was in a terrible supermodified accident in Concord NC a couple of weeks ago. After a few days in the hospital, the banged up driver made the long, painful ride home with his parents. I spoke with him Monday, and he’ll be out of work for several weeks. But he is thankful for the overwhelming support and concern of his racing friends. …"and I don’t know what would have happened if I wasn’t wearing the Hans"… said Mike.
Message: wear a Hans!
The car was completely trashed, and the frame was cut in several places to safely extricate Barnes from the car. The entire Oswego Speedway and supermodified community waited on pins and needles after the wreck, and even though he’s going to heal up just fine, it’ll take awhile to heal from a broken wrist, bruised leg, broken rib, scratched lung and liver, and other aches and pains. If support and friendship can heal injuries, Mikey will be 100 percent by the weekend.
